Vimean Ekareach

Vimean EKareach is a very interesting thing to everyone. Vimean Ekareach or The Independent Monument is a symbol of Phnom Penh capital city. It was built in 1958 and designed by Vann Molyvann who was the greatest architect of Cambodia. Inspired by the Angkor style, Vimean Ekareach was built to represent as a memorial that Cambodia took independence from the French on 09 November 1953. It stands in the centre of the city at the intersection of Norodom Boulevard and Sihanouk Boulevard. Besides its Angkor style, Vimean Ekareach also has a circle with water around it. Colourful light and water are always turned on to ornament the monument every night. Vimean Ekareach is one of the great things that tourists want to see when they come to visit Cambodia.
